Our Values

Working with You
We take the time to understand our clients and their particular needs. Each client has a unique mix of budget, resource and capability constraints.
Road Information Technologies will work with you to reach a solution that maximises your input and makes all data available as knowledge to the whole organisation.
We see every project as a partnership, which is why we consider it critical to always be available for our clients, able to answer questions and problem-solve.

Mutual Benefit
Every project is a partnership. As such Road Information Technologies requires that all our products and services provide on-going benefit to the client.
The more value that RIT can leverage for the client from every dollar spent the more mutually beneficial the partnership is.

Knowledge
Not Data
Many Road Authorities, with the stretched budgets and resources, do not manage to convert the volumes of data that has been collected into information and knowledge. This leads to less than optimised decisions. Without the information and knowledge it is often difficult to even critically analyse whether the correct data is being collected.
Not only can RIT collect the correct data, we can also assist in the turning your traffic data into information and knowledge, assisting you to make the right decisions.
Meet The Team

John Byrnes
John is a RPEQ engineer with over 35 years' experience in asset management, logistics, data collection, ERP implementations and project management, and whose mindset is to implement technology appropriate to the situation.
He has gained wide and detailed experience from roles with the Department of Transport (Namibia), specialist Asset Consultants, DHL Logistics, ERP installations in Oracle subsidiaries, Toowoomba Regional Council, Russell Mineral Equipment and Geneng Solutions. This varied experience has given him the technical and financial insight into asset management and the realisation of how critical it is to collect effective data and to provide the organisation with knowledge.
For the last few years John's focus has been governmental entities around Queensland,
assisting them with solutions in all aspects of finance, asset management, strategy, and data
collection.
OUR STORY
While working in the council environment John became aware that significant effort was been put
into collecting traffic count data. However this data tended to be used as a one-off standalone
event. Further assumptions were being made as to the traffic statistics from a few of these
standalone counts. The problem was highlighted during the floods of 2011 when it was realised that
there was no traffic information knowledge.
Using his past experience John started investigating and sourcing equipment that fit the philosophy
of “good quality, simple and cost effective”. The equipment was tested over a period of time to
ensure that it fitted with the above philosophy.
The company is ready to offer equipment and services in the traffic data information area. The company
officially launched at the IPWEAQ State Conference in Mackay in 2015
